Swiss industrial group ABB announced on August 11th, Zurich time, the board of directors unanimously decided to appoint Bjrn Rosengren, 60, “experienced international corporate executives and industrial leaders” as CEO (CEO). He will join ABB on February 1, 2020 and will officially become CEO on March 1, 2020. At that time, Peter Voser, who is also the interim CEO, will continue to focus on the chairmanship of the group.<\/p>\n

ABB’s new CEO, the 60-year-old Swede Bjrn Rosengren, is an experienced international corporate executive and industrial leader.<\/p>\n
Before moving to ABB, Rosengren worked for Sandvik, a global manufacturer of metal cutting tools and mining gear. Since 2015, he has served as CEO of the company.<\/p>\n
During his four-year tenure at Sandvik, Rosengren oversaw the implementation of the company’s decentralized structure, selling underperforming business segments, and improving profitability and financial strength. The company’s share price has risen more than 70% during its tenure.<\/p>\n
Prior to joining Sandvik, Rosengren also served as CEO of the Wärtsilä Group in 2011-2015, a manufacturer and service provider of equipment for the marine and energy sectors. Wärtsilä’s share price has risen 83% under his supervision.<\/p>\n
In addition, during 1998-2011, he spent 13 years at Atlas Copco, a technology solutions provider in the industrial and construction sector, where he held various management positions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
